NEVADA – On the night of March 10, a partial roof collapse occurred at a multi-unit housing structure on San Francisco Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. The South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found that the roof had collapsed on one side of an exterior walkway, which served as the building’s primary entrance and exit.
Fortunately, all five individuals present at the time of the incident were rescued by the fire rescue team using a ladder. However, while they were on-site, a section of the roof collapsed.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and everyone who was displaced due to the incident has been offered or has already secured alternative housing options. Authorities are ensuring that all affected individuals are accounted for and receive the necessary assistance.
The cause of the roof collapse is still under investigation. The South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any signs of structural damage or potential hazards to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
