Northern Nevada Charities Are Asking for Food Donations for Thanksgiving
NEVADA – The Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is asking for donations of Thanksgiving dinner items to be distributed to those in need.
In addition to their annual Thanksgiving meal, CCNN and the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows are organizing a food basket drive for low-income families.
The organizations have asked for enough food to fill at least 1,000 baskets, which includes staples like instant potatoes, boxed stuffing, green beans, canned corn, canned turkey gravy, cornbread mix, canned cranberries, applesauce, and pudding cups. All of the turkeys for the baskets were graciously donated by Dolan Auto Group.
Donations of food can be collected at any time from the barrels hosted by businesses, civic, and service organizations for distribution by volunteers. If you’d like to help CCNN have the Thanksgiving baskets ready in time for the holiday, please have all donations sent by November 8.
Catholic Charities requests that anyone using a basket sign up in advance. Please contact Monique Jacobs at mjacobs@ccsnn.org or 775-322-7073 ext. 254 if you are interested in helping.
