NEVADA – Tragedy struck in south Reno on Monday night when a pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. on S. Virginia Street near Damonte Ranch Parkway.
According to the Nevada State Police, the pedestrian was standing on the road and was initially hit by a northbound vehicle. Subsequently, the pedestrian was hit by about half a dozen more vehicles. The reasons for the pedestrian’s presence on the road remain unknown at this time. The drivers involved in the collisions are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Due to the investigation, northbound S. Virginia Street was temporarily closed while troopers surveyed the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released, and no further details have been made available at this time.
