NEVADA – President Joe Biden has approved a major disaster declaration for parts of Nevada in the aftermath of a historic winter that caused severe weather events such as winter storms, flooding, and mudslides. The declaration means that federal funding is now available to the state, tribal and other eligible local governments to cover emergency costs and repairs caused by these natural disasters.

The eligible counties for federal funding include Douglas, Eureka, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral and Storey. The announcement comes as a relief to the affected areas, as the severe weather events caused significant damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure.
