Reno, NV – Winter arrived in full force in Reno overnight, with heavy snowfall blanketing the city and surrounding areas. As a result, all Washoe County schools and the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) have announced closures for Monday, February 5th, 2024, citing hazardous weather and road conditions.
Snowfall Impact:
- Residents reported up to a foot of snow accumulation in some areas.
- Transportation officials deemed road conditions unsafe for travel.
School and University Closures:
- All Washoe County schools, from elementary to high school, are closed.
- UNR will be closed for all in-person operations and classes, including its Reno, Douglas County, and Carson City campuses.
- However, online and remote learning activities will continue as scheduled.
