Reno, NV – The Reno-Stead Airport has reopened its runway and returned to normal operations after a plane crash on Thursday afternoon injured one person.

The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. when a twin-engine plane with two occupants went down shortly after takeoff. One occupant suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The second occupant did not suffer any injuries.

The runway and a portion of the taxiway were closed for several hours while the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigated the crash. The NTSB has not yet released any information on the cause of the crash.

The Reno-Stead Airport is a general aviation airport located about 10 miles north of downtown Reno. It is home to a variety of businesses, including aircraft maintenance and repair shops, flight schools, and charter companies.

The airport is also a popular destination for recreational pilots and aviation enthusiasts. It hosts a number of air shows and other events throughout the year.

The plane crash on Thursday is the first major accident at the Reno-Stead Airport in several years. In 2018, a small plane crashed on the airport’s runway, killing the pilot.

The NTSB’s investigation into the Thursday crash is expected to take several weeks or even months to complete. Once the investigation is complete, the NTSB will release a report on the cause of the crash and any recommendations to prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.
