RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) –RTC reported Tuesday morning that Phase 1 of a project on Sparks Blvd. been finished.
The first phase, which was completed three months early, boosted roadway capacity, increased safety and accessibility, and expanded Sparks Blvd between Greg Street and Lincoln Way.
Construction was planned to be finished in the spring of 2023.
While the project is now complete, personnel must continue to work on smaller tasks linked to the initial project, such as installing new traffic signal heads and other electrical equipment.
About $12 million was spent on project phase 1. With the first phase being done, RTC will continue the environmental and design process for Phase 2.
This section of the project encompasses the area of Sparks Blvd between the I-80 westbound ramps and Baring Blvd. It is not expected to commence until 2025.
