Sparks Police Department Announces Arrest of Murder Suspect
NEVADA – On Friday, the Sparks Police Department (Sparks PD) apprehended a man wanted for murder in Indiana.
According to Sparks PD, they received information on a male named Tayshawn Newman staying at a hotel in Sparks around 12:30 p.m. on December 9. An investigation discovered that Newman had a completely extraditable murder warrant out of Indiana and had planned to leave Sparks to return to Sacramento, California.
Newman was apprehended by the Sparks Police Patrol Division and the Regional Crime Suppression Unit at the RTC bus terminal (Greyhound Terminal) at 1421 Victorian Ave. Newman was apprehended and booked into the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office without incident (WCSO).
Sparks Police are urging anyone with information on Newman’s actions and activities while in the Reno-Sparks area to contact them.
