RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Following a house fire in Wells last week, the Nevada State Fire Marshal detained a man on accusations of arson and endangering an animal.
The fire that started on January 17 in the vicinity of Shoshone Avenue was examined by the Fire Marshal and the Wells Volunteer Fire Department.
The house was entirely destroyed by the fire, which also slightly damaged the nearby building. James Clark, a renter of the house where the fire started, was detained by investigators when it was discovered that the fire was intentionally set on fire.
Two allegations of first-degree arson as well as one count of torturing and hurting an animal have been brought against Clark. His booking has been made at the Elko County Jail.
No one was inside the house when the fire started, according to the Fire Marshal, but a dead cat was discovered.
