NEVADA – Nevada State Police reported that the incident occurred on April 23 at around 10:00 p.m. in Carson City.
The driver of an orange Toyota Corolla hatchback, Gustavo Caldera, was reportedly trying to evade Carson City police and was traveling east on East William Street with three women in the car when he ran a red light and crashed into a black Jeep Cherokee making a left turn onto North Saliman Road.
Caldera and the driver of the Jeep were taken to the hospital with injuries of varying degrees. Two of the women in the Toyota, identified as Korina Adams and Destiny Darling, both from Reno, died at the scene. Caldera was later arrested and booked into the Carson City jail on pending charges.
The police have not yet revealed why Caldera was trying to evade them.
