NEVADA – Nevada State Police have reported that the US95 northbound was closed at Jones on Wednesday morning following a three-vehicle crash. The incident occurred at around 4:45 a.m. just south of Summerlin Parkway.
Initial details suggest that a dark-colored Jeep was traveling northbound on US95 in a reckless manner when it collided with the rear of a silver Toyota, causing it to steer towards the Summerlin Parkway off-ramp. Meanwhile, the Jeep overcorrected upon impact and overturned, coming to a rest on its roof in the US95 travel lanes.
While the Jeep was stationary in the travel lanes, a white Toyota traveling northbound on US95 hit the front of the vehicle. All three drivers involved were adult males.
The driver of the white Toyota sustained critical injuries and was transported to UMC, according to the Nevada State Police. However, the driver of the silver Toyota did not report any injuries.
Animal control officers were also at the scene, reportedly removing a pregnant dog from the white Toyota. The dog is said to have sustained no injuries.
Nevada State Police have arrested the driver of the Jeep for suspected impairment. A hard closure was put in place on US95 northbound, and all traffic was diverted off at Jones while police investigated.
