RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The Washoe County District Attorney stated on Thursday that a Wadsworth man was found guilty by a jury last week of killing an Olinghouse man in 2018.

Clayton Davis, 40, is facing the following charges:

• One count of Burglary with the Use of a Deadly Weapon
• One count of First Degree Murder with the Use of a Deadly Weapon
• Possibility of an additional 35 years in prison for remaining charges
• Sentence term of 20 to 50 years

Davis was found guilty of murdering 58-year-old John Whitaker during a burglary and robbery attempt in November 2018.

On that day, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and Pyramid Lake Tribal Police (PLTP) responded to a stabbing incident in Wadsworth’s Stampmill community. The person was transferred to the hospital and died there.

Davis was arrested in April 2019 after WCSO Detectives collaborated with PLTP to identify a suspect.
