OPINION: Health Care Costs Crushing Nevadans – Lombardo’s Rx: Cure or Placebo?

This is Part 6 of our 10-part series, “Lombardo’s Nevada Showdown: The Fight for 2026.”

Core problem: Sky-high premiums and rural access gaps persist, worsened by federal mandates. Dispute flares as Lombardo’s health agency proposals in his 2025 roadmap, via Nevada Policy’s January report, faced pushback, with vetoes blocking costly expansions.

His cure: Streamlining agencies and vetoing mandates, signing bills for better outcomes as in his June 2025 session wrap-up. Credit for avoiding Obamacare bloat during his COVID tenure, keeping businesses open smarter, but for victory in 2026, he should negotiate drug price caps, outpacing Ford’s litigation-heavy style with tangible relief. Upgrade via mobile clinics in rural areas.

Housing crisis incoming – Part 7 reveals if Lombardo’s building boom is real or rhetoric.
