LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, one person was killed and two others were injured in a crash while fleeing from police early Monday morning.
Officers have launched a further investigation in the 8300 block of W. LVMPD reported in a statement that the incident happened about 12:33 a.m. on Charleston Boulevard.
Officers observed a car with three persons inside during their inquiry. The car fled from police and crashed near Lake Mead and Rainbow boulevards.
According to authorities, no other vehicles were involved in the crash. There were no other details supplied.
At the scene, one of the suspects was pronounced dead. Two other people were also rushed to a nearby hospital, although the extent of their injuries is unknown.
Lake Mead Boulevard has been closed from Rainbow to Rock Springs Drive, along with the off-ramps for US 95 at Lake Mead. It is unknown when the streets will reopen.
