A 33-Year-Old California Man Died Monday Night in Blue Diamond
LAS VEGAS – A California man in his thirties was killed in a car accident on Monday night close to Blue Diamond.
Nevada State Police said in a statement that a man named Brian Trenton Carvalho, of Newbury Park, California, was declared dead at the scene on SR159 near Arroyo Street. This route is known as State Route 159, or the Red Rock Loop.
Just before midnight, the Nevada State Police were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident. As far as we can tell from our early investigation, Carvalho was driving east on SR159 in a silver Honda Civic at a “speed too fast for conditions.”
On a bend, the eastbound car went into the westbound lane of traffic, and the driver overcorrected, sending their vehicle spinning onto the dirt shoulder. The vehicle rolled down a hill and crashed. When Carvalho’s seatbelt failed, he was thrown from the car. When the automobile he was in crashed, he was the only one inside.
This is the 59th deadly accident involving NSP-Southern Command territory this year, and 66 people have lost their lives.
