A 42-Year-Old Parrot Was Stolen From a Downtown Business

LAS VEGAS – Sam the parrot thrived at American Printing on Fremont St. for 15 of his 42 years until being stolen early Wednesday morning.

Brenda Fishbach, Sam’s owner, captured the man dragging the bird from the front room to the back, opening the cage, and battling with it as he ran through the back and into the night.

She’s had Sam for nearly her entire life and fears he won’t live without her.

She prayed he hadn’t suffered a heart attack or worse.

Sam has severe arthritis, takes medication, and is a hard-to-care-for animal, said Fishbach.

Fishbach’s kids have never lived without the bird, and her customers love him.

Fishbach will pay $1,000 for Sam’s return.
