Police arrested a local father after discovering his infant son died of an apparent overdose.
Enrique Escobar was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the April death of his 5-month-old son.
Following a toxicology report, the infant was discovered to have Benadryl in his system, according to an arrest report.
Both Escobar and his wife, who was at work at the time of the incident, had no idea how the 5-month-old got his hands on the medication.
During an interview with police, Escobar admitted to smoking two “bowls” of marijuana and playing video games the night of the incident.
According to the arrest report, the couple has a 2-year-old daughter who was unharmed.
After questioning the couple in April, police brought them in again in August, arresting Escobar because he was the one caring for the infant.
He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and charged with one count of open murder.
