LAS VEGAS – A student was arrested Wednesday after a gun was found on the Basic Academy campus in Henderson, according to a notice sent to parents.
Clark County School District Police got a tip that there was a weapon on campus, and when they looked into it, they found a gun, said Principal Gerald Bustamante in a note.
One student was taken into custody without any trouble. The notice says that there were no threats made against students or staff.
Because of privacy laws, no more information about a specific student can be given out.
Bustamante wrote, “As has been said more than once, the Clark County School District is actively pursuing any legal actions against students who use violence and break the CCSD Student Code of Conduct.”
