A wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 claimed the lives of Officer Colton Pulsipher, 29, of Moapa, and Fernando Jimenez Jimenez, 31, of Las Vegas. The December 12 incident occurred when Jimenez, driving a Ford F-150 in the wrong direction, collided head-on with Pulsipher’s Toyota Corolla near mile marker 78. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision also led to a secondary crash when a Freightliner tractor-trailer swerved to avoid the wreckage, resulting in another vehicle, a Honda CR-V, being severely damaged. The driver of the CR-V sustained substantial injuries and was airlifted to University Medical Center. The Freightliner driver remained unharmed and assisted investigators.

Authorities recovered alcohol and marijuana containers from the Ford F-150, raising concerns about impairment as a contributing factor. Toxicology results are pending from the Clark County Coroner’s Office while the Nevada Highway Patrol continues investigating.

Officer Pulsipher, a dedicated member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, was returning home after his shift. This incident underscores the critical need for responsible driving and adherence to traffic laws to ensure public safety.
