Las Vegas, NV – A suspect has been apprehended in connection with a tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of an innocent bystander on a Saturday night just north of the famous Las Vegas Strip.
Marvin Williams, 27, now faces serious charges, including open murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, according to a statement released by the Metropolitan Police Department. He was taken into custody in absentia and is currently detained at the Clark County Detention Center.
The devastating incident unfolded at approximately 11:35 p.m. on a Saturday evening along Las Vegas Boulevard South, in close proximity to Oakey Boulevard. Metro Lt. Donald Roberts provided initial details surrounding the shooting.
The victim, who was merely walking on the sidewalk, tragically found themselves in the midst of an altercation that erupted at a nearby business. As the victim passed by the establishment, an unidentified individual opened fire on another man involved in the dispute. Tragically, a stray bullet from the altercation struck the unrelated victim, leading to their untimely death.
At present, the identity of the victim, as well as the precise cause and manner of their unfortunate demise, will be released following an examination by the Clark County coroner’s office.
