LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – People travelling through Las Vegas on Wednesday are continuing to be canceled as a result of the enormous problems afflicting Southwest Airlines this week.
According to the website Flight Aware, as of 7 a.m., 192 Southwest flights for Harry Reid International Airport have been canceled, out of a total of 209 cancellations.
In addition, 44 planes have been delayed.
A sea of luggage also lingers at the airport’s baggage claim area, as people remain separated from their stuff.
Southwest has canceled hundreds of flights in Las Vegas since Monday.
According to FlightAware, Southwest was responsible for more than 91% of all canceled flights in the United States early Wednesday.
According to experts, it is the consequence of continuous challenges with large storms in key cities, as well as overscheduling by Southwest and antiquated infrastructure.
As a result, many tourists have been delayed in cities after Christmas, with many resorting to alternative flights or even renting automobiles to get home.
Southwest CEO Robert Jordan said in a video aired late Tuesday that the airline will operate on a reduced schedule for many days but aimed to be “back on track by next week.”
The US Transportation Department has stated that it will investigate and guarantee that everyone harmed is compensated.
