A serious collision in south Las Vegas on Sunday night has left a passenger critically injured and sparked a suspected DUI investigation, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Shortly before 9:30 p.m., two Jeep vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided near the intersection of East Warm Springs Road and Amigo Street. Authorities say the 2018 Jeep Wrangler was westbound and turned left as the eastbound 2014 Jeep Cherokee approached, leading to the impact.
A 61-year-old woman riding in the Cherokee was taken to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition, while the drivers remained at the scene. Police identified the Wrangler’s driver as 34-year-old Michelle Lane of Las Vegas, who is suspected of impairment at the time of the crash and has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a DUI charge involving serious bodily injury . She is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
Traffic investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional updates have been released by LVMPD.
