DUI Charges Filed Against Driver Involved in Fatal Collision with 5-Year-Old in North Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – According to a recent arrest report, the driver responsible for a collision that tragically claimed the life of a 5-year-old in North Las Vegas last week is now facing DUI charges. The report reveals that 41-year-old Guillermo Senobua, who was initially arrested on misdemeanor charges by North Las Vegas police, had a blood alcohol level of 0.098 grams/100 mL at the time of the crash.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Craig and Lone Mountain, where the young boy was being dropped off at school before the collision occurred. The arrest report from the North Las Vegas Police Department indicates that Senobua “accelerated around stopped vehicles” in the area, disregarding the presence of children exiting and crossing the street toward the school. Senobua failed to exercise caution or use due care around pedestrians, resulting in the tragic collision with the child.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers immediately rushed the injured child to the University Medical Center Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

On Monday, the police received the results of Senobua’s blood test, indicating a blood alcohol level of 0.098 grams, which exceeded the legal limit. The results, along with the report, were promptly forwarded to the district attorney’s office, leading to an amendment of the charge from vehicular manslaughter to DUI with death.

Subsequently, on Monday around 4:30 p.m., Senobua was arrested and transported to the North Las Vegas city jail, where he was booked on the revised charge.
