The Clark County School District (CCSD) and the Clark County Educators Association (CCEA) have joined forces to offer support to educators facing health challenges. A “memorandum of understanding” signed on Thursday allows licensed educators within the district to donate sick leave to each other.
This agreement addresses a need not currently covered in the existing bargaining agreement, according to Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara. The program allows teachers and other licensed professionals to contribute their sick leave days to colleagues experiencing health issues or caring for sick family members.
“Our members have expressed a strong desire to support each other during these unprecedented times,” said Vikki Courtney, CCEA President.
While the details of the leave donation process are still being finalized, the school district will share them with educators in the coming days.
