LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board conducted an emergency meeting on Tuesday to suspend the license of North Las Vegas’s Helping Hands Wellness Center.
The board stated it was the result of a months-long investigation and several on-site inspections. Agents discovered in December Helping Hands’ employees concealed and intended “to divert cannabis and cannabis products, in addition to other significant security deficiencies.”
Agents discovered untagged plants at the facility during a follow-up inspection in January, which could not be traced in the state’s seed-to-sale monitoring system. According to the CCB, untraceable plants may result in untested cannabis products on the black market.
The CCB announced the suspension “citing a present threat to public health and safety.”
This is the first suspension imposed in 2023. Before the suspension may be removed, Helping Hands must present a plan of correction to the board for approval.
