LAS VEGAS – A tragic shooting incident during Fourth of July festivities resulted in a man’s death, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The incident took place overnight Wednesday in the 1900 block of Walker Street near W. Lake Mead Boulevard and H Street.
Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the victim was among a large group of people celebrating the holiday when the shooting occurred. Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene after receiving a report of the incident around 12:36 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the man injured from a gunshot wound on a sidewalk. Emergency medical services were called and the victim was rushed to UMC Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The LVMPD Homicide Section is actively investigating the incident and is seeking any information that may assist in identifying the perpetrator.
