LAS VEGAS – On September 1, Las Vegas experienced heavy rainfall that resulted in flash floods on certain parts of the famous Las Vegas Strip.

The National Weather Service reported that Boulder City, which is located 26 miles southeast of Las Vegas, received 1.14 inches of rainfall.

There was also over an inch of rainfall near Interstate 15 at Charleston Boulevard, just south of Harry Reid International Airport.

The severity of the weather event was highlighted by a flash flood warning that remained in effect for the area until Saturday night, September 2.
