Heavy Traffic Heading to California. Get Ready for Long Waits.
LAS VEGAS – If you’re driving from Las Vegas to California to end your Thanksgiving weekend, be prepared for lengthy delays.
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada said on its Twitter account on Sunday that there is a 13-mile backup to the Nevada-California border – nearly the length of the commute on Interstate 15 from Jean to Primm.
The message stated, “Heavy traffic to California.” “Be prepared for lengthy delays.”
Around 11 a.m. Sunday, I-15 southbound was roughly 5 miles outside Primm. (Transportation Department of Nevada)
Those traveling south from Las Vegas to nearby California reported considerable delays on Saturday, particularly around midday.
Such traffic jams are common throughout most holiday visits.
