Sierra Traffic Is Moving Again After Heavy Snow Caused Accidents, Road Closures, and Chain Controls

Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, a huge surge of snow and ice hampered movement along important Sierra roadways.

A white automobile was mangled and jammed between two semi-trucks in a gruesome collision across the Nevada state line. This midnight collision involving six tractor-trailers occurred on Interstate 80 near Gold Ranch. The collision resulted in a deformed tire and a twisted guardrail on a large truck.

It looks awful. However, no one was severely injured.

A collision on eastbound I-80 at Donner Pass has closed the traffic. A photograph taken by the California Highway Patrol reveals that at least two trucks were involved.

A 9 a.m. video depicts the significant traffic jam created by an accident. Wednesday, but the route has subsequently reopened in its entirety. Additionally, chain requirements have been eliminated from both Interstates 50 and 80.

For commercial truckers like Chris Acopiado, Wednesday was just another day at work.
