LAS VEGAS – After temporarily closing its doors in the spring, Huntridge Family Clinic officially reopened on Monday, July 17. The clinic, which serves thousands of individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, faced financial struggles and the need for healthcare policy reform. Family nurse practitioner Rob Phoenix expressed gratitude for the support received from community partners during the closure.
During the closure, Phoenix continued to support patients by refilling prescriptions and providing limited infusion treatments to those living with HIV. The reopening became possible through the financial and management support of CAN Community Health Services, a nonprofit organization based in Sarasota, Florida, dedicated to the treatment and care of people living with HIV.
Huntridge Family Clinic has been operating in alignment with CAN Community Health Services for the past decade, focusing on barrier-free care and swift access to treatment. Although the clinic currently operates under reduced hours and capacity, Phoenix remains optimistic about the future. The goal is to gradually increase staff and patient capacity, aiming to serve all the patients they once did.
The clinic’s new operating hours are Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Located at 1820 E. Sahara Ave. Suite 201, Las Vegas, NV, Huntridge Family Clinic looks forward to continuing its mission of providing quality healthcare to the community it serves.
