On Monday, September 28, 2022, Henderson Police respond to a police shooting.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (NV, Globe) – The Henderson Police Department has named the officer who is accused of shooting and killing a suspect after being shot in the face himself on Monday.

Officer Glenn Morgan has been working for the Henderson Police Department since 2007, according to a press release. He has been appointed to the Field Operations Bureau and is on paid administrative leave until the outcome of the inquiry into the incident.

Around 6:54 a.m., Henderson Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious guy carrying a pistol in a holster in the 10000 block of Eastern Avenue, near St. Rose Parkway. Monday, September 26th.

According to police, the description of the suspect in a domestic dispute earlier in the morning matched the man, and when police came, a brief foot pursuit followed.

The man attempted but failed to enter stopped automobiles on the road. An officer also used a “taser cartridge,” which was ineffective.

According to police, the suspect unholstered his revolver, pointed it towards Officer Morgan, and fired, striking him in the face. Morgan returned fire by shooting the suspect, who was subsequently declared dead at a hospital.

Morgan was transported to the hospital, where his condition was characterized as stable. After 48 hours, it is standard protocol to publicize the identities of police engaged in shootings.

Henderson Police said they think the suspect was equipped with an imitation BB gun, but they are currently investigating its capabilities.
