In the Las Vegas Valley Light to Moderate Rain Is Anticipated on Thursday

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Southern Nevada will have active weather on Thursday!

In Las Vegas, there will probably be rain, with the biggest probability of showers occurring between 10 am and 3 pm. Rainfall totals are expected to range from roughly.10″ to.25″, according the projected rain models. Southeasterly winds will blow at 5 to 15 mph.

A WINTER STORM WARNING is in force above 6,000 feet in the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range until 4 am on Friday, and there is also a prediction for significant mountain snowfall. Below 7,000 feet, up to 6″ of snow is forecast, and beyond that, 6″ to 15″ of snow is expected. Additionally, gusts of wind in the mountains might reach 50 mph.

The severe effects of this atmospheric river traveling inland from Northern California to Southern California will be felt in California. It will rain between 2 and 4 inches in the lowlands, 3 to 6 inches in the hills, and up to 8 to 10 inches on the coastal highlands.

There will also be between one and three feet of snow in the Sierra Mountains. On certain peaks, isolated totals of around 4 feet will be possible.

On Thursday night, the storm will begin to dissipate, leaving behind partly overcast skies and valley lows of 41 degrees.

By Friday, Las Vegas will have largely sunny skies with highs rising to 57 degrees.

This weekend, there will likely be another wave of clouds, with daytime highs only reaching the mid to upper 50s.
