LAS VEGAS – In the aftermath of the devastating Maui wildfires, the Las Vegas community is stepping up to show their solidarity and support for the West Maui Little League. The league lost all its equipment in the wildfires earlier this month, leaving the kids without the means to play the game they love. In response, the community is rallying to gather donations that will help get the young players back on the field.
The West Maui Little League is urgently seeking various baseball items, both new and used, to equip their players. These items include batting gloves, gloves, baseballs, shoes, bats, bat bags, and helmets.
Ninth Island Dump and Haul, a local business, is leading the charge by hosting a donation drive for the league. Four Las Vegas establishments have joined forces to collect the much-needed items:
1. Honors Brand – 9175 Las Vegas Blvd. #108, Las Vegas
2. 2 Scoops of Aloha LV Drive Inn #N2 – 9620 South Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas
3. Taverna Costera – 1031 South Main St., Las Vegas
4. Crunch of Aloha – 10960 S. Eastern Ave. Suite 109, Henderson
The donation drive is currently underway and will continue through September 6. This initiative showcases the caring spirit of the Las Vegas community as individuals and businesses come together to support their peers on Maui during these challenging times.
