LAS VEGAS – The National Weather Service in Las Vegas issued a winter storm warning on Sunday afternoon, which is slated to expire late Tuesday afternoon.
The warning was issued at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday and will expire around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The alert comes as officials anticipate severe snowfall in the sheep range area. Snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches are possible. According to NWS Las Vegas, higher amounts can reach beyond 9,000 feet.
For winds, gusts facing south can reach up to 25 mph.
“Travel can be extremely difficult to impossible,” the weather agency warned in an advisory. “A small break in precipitation is predicted today, followed by a return of heavy snow tonight through Monday.”
