LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The federal sentence for a Las Vegas man found guilty of disseminating child pornography was released on Thursday by the US Attorney’s Office in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The sentence for 35-year-old Alexander Pennington is 30 years in jail followed by a lifetime of parole supervision. He was also told to make restitution of $30,000.
According to the authorities, Pennington was accused of conspiring to promote the spread of child porn in November 2021. He entered a guilty plea in August 2022.
Pennington oversaw a group conversation where participants disseminated illegal goods while using the private messaging app Kik.
He had a rule that anyone who did not upload child porn would be kicked out of the chat room.
Project Safe Childhood, a countrywide project of the U.S. Department of Justice to tackle the scourge of child sexual exploitation and abuse, included the case in its scope.
