LAS VEGAS – A man from Las Vegas has pleaded guilty to killing his long-term girlfriend, Cheryl Beardall, and revealed the location of her body three years after she was last seen alive.
Philip O’Reilly was linked to the murder after his sister told police that he might have killed Beardall. Although her body has not been recovered, police found evidence on social media, a rental truck company, and the victim’s phone to link O’Reilly to the killing.
O’Reilly’s attorney confirmed that his client disclosed the location of the body on Wednesday to avoid the prosecutors seeking the death penalty in the case.
He agreed to a sentence of life in prison without parole.
