LAS VEGAS – Mohamed Muhina, a man from Las Vegas, has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and recording the act. Muhina pleaded guilty last November to a count of sexual exploitation of children.
In addition to the prison sentence, Muhina will have to register as a sex offender and will be subject to a lifetime of supervised release. Prosecutors claimed that Muhina started communicating with the teenage victim via Facebook in 2017 and then went to her home and assaulted her in his car.
Muhina continued committing sexual assaults in the following months, and a forensic examination of his cell phone found it full of images and videos of sex acts with young girls, including the victim.
“The defendant is a predator who actively sought out one of our most vulnerable, a 14-year-old child, and repeatedly committed sexual assaults, ignoring the victim’s cries and pleas to stop,” said U.S. Attorney Jason Frierson in a statement.
