LAS VEGAS – Former Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer, Caleb Mitchell Rogers, has been handed a 12-year prison sentence for robbing three casinos, amounting to approximately $164,000. Rogers, 33, will face three years of probation upon his release. He was convicted on three counts of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence in July.

The robberies unfolded as follows:

• On Nov. 12, 2021, Rogers stole around $73,810 from a west Las Vegas casino.
• On Jan. 6, 2022, he robbed a north Las Vegas casino of about $11,500.
• On Feb. 27, 2022, he threatened casino employees at a Las Vegas sportsbook with a firearm and made away with approximately $78,898.

In all cases, Rogers brazenly approached the cashiers, demanding money. His final robbery took a violent turn when he physically assaulted employees and brandished a .357 revolver, prompting security guards to intervene. Rogers was apprehended and disarmed, and police later discovered that the firearm belonged to the LVMPD.
