Las Vegas Welcomes 2023!

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas has bid goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023.

On New Year’s Eve, the city organized a number of parties and celebrations, with officials expecting hundreds of thousands of people to pour on the Las Vegas Strip and downtown neighborhoods.

The midnight fireworks display also went off without a hitch, despite some concern that rain or wind would dampen the festivities. Clark County stated that preparations for the show were underway at the Grucci Fireworks command center, and officials monitored wind levels.

Test shots were fired from eight different places to clear the launch of fireworks, ensuring a celebration at the stroke of midnight.

Large bags, including as luggage, backpacks, diaper bags, or anything larger than 12x12x6 will not be permitted on the Strip. Carts and strollers, like in previous years, are also prohibited, as are glass and metal bottles.

Las Vegas Boulevard was closed between Tropicana Avenue to Spring Mountain Road. As about 8 p.m., the Strip was entirely closed to all vehicular traffic.

At 5 p.m., the Interstate 15 off-ramps at Flamingo Road were closed.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, anyone under the age of 18 who a parent does not accompany will be prohibited from entering the Strip or downtown.

If you need a ride, the Heidari Law Firm is providing free rides for anyone who is intoxicated between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Call 702-999-7777 to schedule a pickup.
