Las Vegas Woman Accused Of Her Seventh DUI Pleads Guilty

LAS VEGAS – According to court documents, a Las Vegas woman accused of her seventh DUI pled guilty last week and joined a treatment program for felony DUI offenders.

Marion Reyes-Rivero, 35, first appeared in Henderson Justice Court on October 18 for her sixth DUI charge since 2007, according to records.

The Nevada DMV most recently canceled her license in June 2022.

Reyes-Rivero has been arrested 21 times, including re-bookings prior to jail appearances, according to a criminal records search of police departments in southern Nevada. Documents indicate that Reyes-Rivero was arrested for DUI in April 2007, September 2010, April 2019, February 2020, and July 2020.

According to court documents, Clark County School District police arrested Reyes-Rivero for DUI in August, only hours after Reyes-Rivero concluded a different DUI case.

In this instance, Reyes-Rivero was caught speeding at Windmill Lane and Bermuda Road. Police say that Reyes-Rivero lacked a license and lied about her identity during her detention. Documents stated that Reyes-license Rivero’s was canceled in 2020 by the Nevada DMV. The precise date of cancellation remained unknown.

Documents indicate that on Thursday, October 13, Henderson police arrested Reyes-Rivero for stopping her vehicle in the center of two travel lanes on Warm Springs Road at Green Valley Parkway.

Last Monday, Reyes-Rivero agreed to a plea deal in which prosecutors would drop two DUI counts, according to court filings. Under the terms of the deal, Reyes-Rivero was required to undergo a treatment program or face incarceration. According to court documents, Reyes-Rivero would be sent to prison if she received another DUI arrest.

According to court records, the felony DUI court program will continue for at least three years. Tuesday, a court accepted Reyes-application Rivero’s to the program, according to the records.

As part of her release plan, Reyes-Rivero must spend at least six months of home confinement and have an ignition interlock device installed on her vehicle to prevent her from driving under the influence.

If she completes the treatment program, her DUI charge will be reduced to a second offense.

The arrests in August and October brought the total number of DUI accusations to seven, with at least two convictions. Nevada law resets non-felony DUIs to zero after 7 years of a clean record.

On Monday, November 21, many weeks after her arrest on October 13, Judge Stephen George assumed the case and imposed bond at $5,000. Prosecutors urged that Reyes-Rivero should be held on bail of $50,000, given her prior arrests.
