Massive Meth Haul: 90 Pounds Seized in Mesquite Drug Bust

Mesquite police arrested a man in connection with a large drug trafficking case following a traffic stop on northbound I-15. An officer observed behavior suggesting possible drug activity, brought in a K-9 unit, and during a vehicle search discovered a hidden trapdoor under the fuel tank of a black GMC pickup. Inside, law enforcement found about 90 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, valued around $530,000. The driver, identified as Marco Antonio Diaz of Colorado, was arrested and booked on a felony trafficking charge. According to officials, this seizure represents a significant threat to public safety, given the potential harm associated with meth trafficking.
