Man Who Stabbed Las Vegas Police Dog Sentenced

Las Vegas, NV – A man who brutally stabbed a Las Vegas police dog has been sentenced to prison. Thurman Lowe, 65, will serve a minimum of eight years behind bars as part of a plea agreement.

The incident occurred on March 29th when Lowe, who was wanted for an out-of-state murder, attacked K9 Enzo during a police standoff. Despite sustaining severe injuries, Enzo survived the attack and has since returned to duty.

Lowe pleaded guilty to several charges, including assault on a protected person, mistreatment of a police animal, and restricting a public officer. In addition to prison time, he was ordered to pay over $11,000 in restitution for Enzo’s medical expenses.

The attack on Enzo sparked widespread outrage and support for the injured canine. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and well wishes from around the world.
