LAS VEGAS – Those departing Las Vegas following the holiday weekend could expect lengthy delays. Heavy holiday traffic has generated a 16-mile backup to the Nevada-California state line, according to an 11 a.m. tweet from RTC Southern Nevada.
Expect slow traffic and delays on I-11 South from College Drive to Railroad Pass.
According to RTC Southern Nevada, a seven-mile delay was witnessed on the I-15 southbound to California on Sunday as visitors left Las Vegas after the New Year’s holiday.
Around 4 p.m., RTC tweeted, “7 Mile backup to NV-CA Stateline.”
Drivers leaving the Las Vegas valley may expect delays and winter weather, according to RTC.
