LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that a 17-year-old was detained after he was implicated in a fatal shooting in the southeast valley early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:27 a.m. on February 4 in the 4200 block of South Nellis Boulevard, according to the police.
LVMPD reports that officers spotted a man with an apparent gunshot wound. At Sunrise Hospital, where the victim was transferred, he was pronounced dead.
The victim and the defendant, later identified as a 17-year-old, were involved in a verbal altercation, according to the police investigation. During the confrontation, the defendant allegedly produced a weapon and shot the victim, according to the police.
The LVMPD reports that the suspect, who cannot be named because he is a child, was arrested at his apartment on February 7 by the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT). He was booked into CCDC on one count of murder in broad daylight.
