21-Year-Old Driver Killed in Early Morning Crash on Summerlin Parkway

A 21-year-old man, identified as Andres Venegas Nava of Las Vegas, died in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, according to Nevada State Police. The collision occurred just before 2:05 a.m. on September 13 in the eastbound lanes of Summerlin Parkway near Rampart Boulevard. Authorities say Nava was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a guardrail in the dirt median, then reentered traffic and collided with a 2024 Hyundai Tucson SUV. Medical personnel pronounced Nava dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not reported to have serious injuries. The crash marks the 44th traffic fatality this year in the jurisdiction of the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
