LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Numerous airline customers are coming up with inventive methods to go home and locate a ride after being stranded without planes or rental cars around the nation.
Some people have used well-known applications like Uber and Lyft to cross state borders. Local rideshare drivers in Las Vegas have reported that they have received requests for trips to Southern California and Arizona; however, they noted anonymously that the price quotations were not worth it because of the pay for a one-way passenger, time, and petrol. At least one driver claims to have taken a passenger all the way to Orange County.
Sylvia Kadlubowski, a resident of the Phoenix region, had her trip from Phoenix to Las Vegas cancelled and decided to hire a car instead. She gave other stranded travelers seats in her car.
“I got a rental truck. I said something to the flight attendant, ‘As long as they’re not a serial killer they can ride with me,’” Kadlubowski said in jest. She said people clapped and patted her on the back for her kindness, as several passengers eagerly took her offer. She ended up driving two women to Las Vegas.
