LAS VEGAS – Police say that a charter school in North Las Vegas had to be evacuated Thursday because of a possible chemical exposure.
The North Las Vegas Police Department says that at 11:42 a.m. on Thursday, medical help was called to Legacy Traditional School because chemicals may have been exposed.
NLVPD says that one adult was “sickened” by the exposure. But police say that the person was not taken to the hospital from the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported.
A preliminary investigation by the police showed that a student may have brought “unknown chemicals” in jars to school as a “prank.”
Police said that because of what happened, the school had to be evacuated.
The NLVPD says that the school was visited by its Armorer Unit. There was no more information right away.
