LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Two members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) have been honored for their assistance in helping a man who was homeless and struggling with addiction change his life.
Casey Hausman and Carl Loskill of the LVMPD Intervention Unit recently encountered 23-year-old Oleg Wash when he was living on the streets and suffering with addiction.
Wash was able to develop trust with the cops and attend a treatment program when they supplied him with resources.
Officers Hausman and Loskill spoke with Wash throughout the program, who now has a job, is taking school, and is feeling better.
The three have now agreed to meet once a month.
The cops said they will continue to watch Oleg’s development and help him recuperate.
In collaboration with the LVMPD Foundation, Resorts World presented Officer Hausman and Loskill with a ‘Good Ticket’ staycation package.
