LAS VEGAS – A 71-year-old female driver was killed in a hit-and-run incident at Harry Reid Airport; police are investigating.
It occurred on Thursday at about 3 p.m. at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Patrick Lane.
The fatal collision, according to Metro police, involved three vehicles, one of which was a parked tractor-trailer.
Officers report that the driver of a Nissan X-Terra SUV made a left turn into the path of a Toyota Matrix hatchback when the SUV’s front struck the hatchback’s front.
The driver of the hatchback then altered course and struck the left side of the stopped tractor-trailer.
The SUV driver fled the site of the collision on foot but was subsequently caught by police.
Officers said that the 42-year-old SUV driver displayed signs of impairment and was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Police stated that the driver of the hatchback, a 71-year-old lady, was transported to Sunrise hospital, where she later died.

The accident is still being investigated at this time.
