Las Vegas, NV – A disturbing case of child neglect has come to light in Las Vegas, with two parents facing serious charges.
Evelyn and Jack Thompson are accused of repeatedly locking multiple children in a filthy bedroom, where they were exposed to unsanitary conditions. The apartment, located near MLK Boulevard and Owens Avenue, was described as “unkempt” with feces marks on the walls, spoiled food, and live and dead bugs.
According to court documents, one child was found lying on a mattress covered in feces and urine. Another child was discovered in a crib, also covered in food and possibly feces.
The Thompsons allegedly locked the children in the bedroom to take naps or sleep, despite the unsanitary conditions. They are facing four counts of child abuse or neglect, one count for each child in their care.
The children’s ages range from approximately two to nine years old.
Following their arrests, the Thompsons were released on their own recognizance with orders to comply with Child Protective Services.
This case highlights the importance of child protection and the need for vigilant community awareness.
